Nov. 12th, 2007 03:16 pmI was returning from the store when I saw this adorable grey and white kitty. Came right up to me, meowing; I meowed back. S/he started following me, for quite a ways. I cooed and finally succeeded in looking at hir tag: Blue. Had a phone number.
I tried enticing hir back to my place to wait while I called hir owner, but s/he got shy after a bit--I think the traffic scared hir. I copied down the number, and as I did the person who lived in the house I stopped in front of came to her picture window. I walked up to the door and she asked me if there was something she could help me with. "I was walking from the grocery store, and I found this cat--"
"That cat is a wildcat," she said, frowning. I went to speak but she continued, "I've dealt with that cat before, collected it, tried to place it, had words with its owner." I held up my hand and politely apologized.
I called the number when I got home; left a message, detailing the general vicinity where the cat might be found. S/he was well-groomed and quite friendly. I hope the traffic doesn't get hir.
