Did anyone else catch last night's Nightline? (It aired pretty late, after the football game.) ABCNews totally went on the offensive against the Patriot Act. They called attention that this is the first time in recent history that a sitting Attorney General has had to campaign for a law that already has been on the books for two years. (Parts of the Act will expire in 2005.)

Yay for Nightline. I love that show.

i suppose that's cool, but isn't it a little sad that they had to wait two years before they could rail against a law that is obviously unconstitutional? i mena, cool that major media is finally critical of it, sure, but it's the finally that i find distressing.....

Yes, I know. But I remember what the political climate was like two years ago. Hopefully, politics won't be like that again in my lifetime. Arguments that in any way opposed the White House were strangled. Any grumblings got you labelled unpatriotic. Those were bad times.
