I couldn't get the diary to load, but have you seen the video? I'm not sure "lost it" is a completely accurate way to describe what happened. Although Matthews did claim that Stewart conducted "the worst interview ever" both of them were laughing throughout the segment.
That said, I trust Stewart's interpretation of the book (considering I have not yet read nor plan to read it); and I thought it particularly funny that Matthews claimed his book was better than The Prince.
I was listening to it as it broadcast, not watching it. From the tone of Matthews' voice and the give & take that was going on, it really did seem like he could not handle what was given back to him.
I don't know. He always sounds that way to me, even if he's interviewing somebody. Like someone turned his voice up to 11 or something. But I'm sure he didn't like having his book panned.
