I am of the opinion that gender refers not to sexuality, but something closer to personality. Whereas sex is simply biological. Dictionaries that I've seen have recently included the biological definition as another meaning for gender. I think it's just another way that our language is fluid in ways it shouldn't be. There's a reason we have two different words that mean two different things. Let's keep it that way.
