I am currently taking a D suspension supplement, as I am severely deficient, which is apparently quite common in the PNW. My doctor suggested there are long term benefits to getting my numbers in range. Now I have some idea what those might be. Thanks for the link.
There seems to be a link between vitamin D deficiency and autoimmune disorders as well.
When I'm out in the sun less often (in a few weeks, probably, with Michigan weather), I'm considering adding an additional vitamin D supplement to my daily multi-vitamin (since I have autoimmune hypothyroidism).
