And why, even if you're setting off non-pro fireworks, as we were last night, you should never put your head *over* a fountain or mortar or anything you might even suspect will launch something, nor point a bottle rocket (or, god forbid, a roman candle) at a person or hold it too close to your face to light it.
Treat the business end of any fireworks involving a tube as though it is a loaded gun and never try to look into it to try to see why it's not lit, if you've tried to lite it..
I got a slight burn on my knuckle yesterday but only because I lost track of my punk (slow-burning stick used to light things). none of the fireworks hurt me.
