Like I told [livejournal.com profile] yellowmouser this morning, I don't even want to discuss the Libby commutation. Not until I figure out what I'm going to do about it. (Can't call my representatives about it [yet] because they are on holiday this week.)

But if you want to comment about it, you can do so here.

Edit: DailyKos provides numbers to those on the Judiciary Committee. I need to contact:

Dennis Kucinich has Res. 333 calling for Bush's and Cheney's impeachment.

Joe Wilson 'outraged' about commutation, as well he should be.

I told someone over the weekend that the Republicans really are relying on Democrats being violence-hating, gun-hating, pacifists, who won't ever get out their shotguns for a political reason. "We have the NRA on *our* side, so they won't ever come at *us* with lethal force...." Not that I'm recommending violence, but it may come to that.

My husband is predicting that the Executive Branch will attempt to cancel the 2008 elections, and/or dissolve Congress, as they can do under Parliamentary systems.

I love our boy Dennis! He's a hopeless romantic, but I love him nonetheless.

People in the Slashdot discussion were pointing out that if Bush had granted an outright pardon, Libby could no longer plead the 5th in testifying against him and Cheney.

And 30 months may well have been excessive. He still could have commuted the sentence after at least some of it had been served.
