3/4.

I've been mesmerised by 5/4 and 15/16 on occasion.

5/4 is my favorite. Mostly because of the song "Take 5" which isn't a reference to taking a break, but the fact that the song was in 5/4 time. When it was introduced on the Lawrence Welk show, (mispelled I think) he originally misquoted the cue card and said, "Take a Break" but then corrected himself. Ever since then its been connected with that idea.

I love "Take 5", but I don't think I've ever heard anything else in 5/4 that used the time signature so smoothly.

I have a particular fondness for 3/4 songs because they just seem to have a certain momentum, where it wants to keep going regardless of whether you actually have notes to supply.

I love triple meter (3/4, 12/8), and I often slip into it when I compose poetry.

But I think my favorites to listen to are 5/4, 5/8, 7/4 and 7/8.

I was a little confused by the question... I was thinking time stamp (as though we were discussing by IM... or as though people should leave their comment at the "right" time.

But, I have to say 7/8. It's rhythmically challenging and can be changed to subgroups of 2-2-3 or 3-4 or any number of other fun ways.

There's one song my brother did when he was in choir and it's in another language. We did a lot of stuff in latin, too, but I don't think this was latin. I wish I knew the name of it, but I can clearly hear it in my head.

my favorite timestamp format, FWIW

5/8 because it almost seems normal, then throws you off, over and over.

4/4. It betrays nothing about my true nature. :)

That's a tough one. The odd meters really attract me - 7/8, 5/8, 5/4, 11/8, things like that. :) I also really like a fast 3/4 (in one) - it can just flow really beautifully, and can really appreciate the traditional songs in 6/8.

OK, I need to get back to my studying. :-/
