The war *is* lost. It was lost when they (Bremer, was it?) fired the entire Iraqi army. I wish they'd have the nerve to just stick to an obviously true statement.
And on to the Moyer's trascript (at least the beginning -- I don't have time to read all of it here at work), I was always more disturbed by what happened to the mood of the country around the end of 2001 than by the attack itself. Religion and nationalism had just killed 3,000 people, and the overwhelming response was "God Bless America!!!"
Invading Afghanistan was completely necessary, but rather than viewing it as an unfortunate necessity, the public mood seemed to be excitement that we were going to get to kick some ass.
