In particular, this caught my attention: "So far this year, as chairman of the Judiciary Committee, Conyers has offered resolutions to award a Congressional Gold Medal to singer Stevie Wonder and to pay for health insurance coverage for all U.S. residents but has not taken action on impeachment of Bush or Cheney."

Yeah, the Dems now hold the reigns... but they're too goddamned cowardly AS A PARTY to do anything. That's why they keep losing elections, because whenever they're given a hint of power they dither until someone else comes along and takes it away again. Some individuals within the party have the balls to make waves, but mostly they're the ones with nothing to lose.

The Stevie Wonder thing I can't defend, but I'm glad someone is working on universal health care.

Conyers is following the lead of Pelosi, who declared impeachment to be "off the table." What I find interesting, though, is that Kucinich, as a presidential candidate, is calling for Cheney's impeachment.

Were you even aware he was running before that? I know I didn't.

Actually, yes. I've been aware since at least January. Kucinich spoke at the peace march in DC.
