Mar. 23rd, 2007 01:55 pmHow can LJ not see how ugly the site is?
I want the other font settings back. And I don't want italics converted into bold. I really don't.
Edit: Okay, maybe I'm having problems with things other than LJ. Like, down arrows on buttons are showing up as 6s. I don't know what the hell is going on.

Date: 2007-03-23 07:02 pm (UTC)This is one of the classic signs of your computer running way, way, way low on memory. (The problem is that screen redraws are substituting characters for graphics, because they can't make room for the bitmaps.) A reboot should restore things, at least temporarily, but you should consider grabbing some RAM next time you can afford it.
If it persists after reboot, call your favortie tech geek stat.

I don't understand, because the computer was working fine when I went to bed.

Date: 2007-03-23 07:48 pm (UTC)How can I find out what is taking up so much memory?
(The computer has been running a bit slow over the last few days, but I've never seen it act like this.)

Date: 2007-03-23 08:27 pm (UTC)I've been getting updates galore from MS, but I'm assuming that's because of all the crap I'm doing (which has me looking sideways at that Ubuntu disc more and more often).
