Pan's Labyrinth was not what I was expecting. But I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to people.

That is the same thing I said and about five other people that I know. Though two of them said they would not recommend it.

The commercials focused on how visually pleasing the film would be, the scenes depicted tended to display magical reality, and the lead was a small girl. So I guess I expected something more... light. But I can't complain about the film at all. It was a fantastic tale.
