The "parachute" guy's assertions only ring half-true for me. I've walked into interviews where I didn't really care one way or the other, or assumed I had no chance in hell, and walked out with a job offer. I think that perhaps in my case, the attitude allowed me to relax and come off as confident, rather than indifferent.
