FDA approval doesn't actually mean that the product is safe. It just means they don't think it will kill you, directly, immediately.

I'm alarmed that they say, "No-one has been seriously hurt," myself. WTF? Is rape somehow not a serious injury if it happens to men?

i think they mean noone has been knifed or shot, but I take your meaning. apparently it's "just emotional damage" in general. scary.
you know if you talk to rapists, they really seem to think rape is something people will eventually forget about.

I've got mixed feelings. I don't believe in the death penalty, but Saddam is a monster. Main problem is just as he says, he will become a martyr. They should just let him rot in jail for the rest of his life.

And come on, who doesn't want a tasty cloned hamburger? ;)

He is not a monster. He is a human being. Humans, unfortunately, have the capacity to commit entirely horrific acts. That does not make them "monsters." That type of labelling makes it easier for people to justify capital punishment--it removes the perception of humanness of the person in question, devaluing him or her to the point where any punishment is justified.

And he is to be hanged. That's a step below firing squad and above beheading, IMO.

What bothers me about the cloning, other than the fact that the meat and dairy will be on the market, is that what comes from clones will not be labeled as such. That really, really disturbs me. As a consumer, I want to know what I'm putting into my body, and the disclosure of such information seems imperative toward that end. I cannot be the only consumer who feels that way.
