Date: 2006-11-27 02:52 pm (UTC)I excerpted the above because I think it's important to know when something unprecedented in American society and American government in particular occurs. I think historians will look at this Supreme Court with an especial eye, if for no other reason than the five Justices mentioned are already characterized as being the most conservative. Their shared religious ties, it would be apparent to me, may explain why they are or will be voting in a bloc.
