The lines at the polling place were long, even at 7:30 a.m. (Okay, they weren't that long, but they weren't moving very quickly.) But I'm glad I went early.

Oh, and my precinct was not using the Diebold touch screens, as I'd feared. (The Ann Arbor city website listed "Diebold" in the description for the precinct, so I'd been concerned for weeks.)

We were going to go vote early this morning, but my car battery decided it wasn't taking another step after getting Sarah and I to Meijer last night. Must be the time of bad car karma. Was able to get a new battery in, then one of the battery terminals was corroded away, so we got it started and drove it to the nearest mechanic. I'm hoping to have it back by this afternoon so we can take the car rental back.

On the upside, we'll have a new car very soon, and my father has a certificate for 1000 bucks off! Go Dad! The car rental place is jacking us on the car, but we got a PT Cruiser, so at least we look cool while being jacked by the rental place.

The result of which is that Magic may be starting late, we're going to try to vote after work.

I think I will skip Magic again this week... my cards are at home, and I'd have to drive all the way back to Ann Arbor to get them. Also, I think I might need to ferry my mom and sister to the polls, and I don't know how long that would take.
