Oh, I do love "Try Not to Breathe." One of the best songs from Automatic for the People.

Yep, but I have to say, it was a damned close call between that one and Nightswimming. AftP is just pure gold all the way through (except for Ignoreland).

"Nightswimming" is one of their cleanest songs. [livejournal.com profile] dionysus1999 and I were watching a Coldplay concert on TV the other night, and the band featured a couple songs with Michael Stipe, including "Nightswimming." Stipe's voice on that song is just strong and clear, yet understated at the same time.

I think, from AftP, my favorite is the very last song, "Find the River."
