what's sad is that this isn't common sense. somewhere in all the book learnin we got stupid to reason.

I think it is common sense.

I used to work with a woman who had a five year old, who she still called "the baby." (That's another issue, but I think it helps demonstrate her unique mothering skills.) She gave him I don't know how many baths a day... at least four. And he was already allergic to I don't know how many things. At age five. If you're not exposed to something, how will your body learn that it doesn't have to save itself from these regular everyday occurences?

another case where what i write doesn't read as what i mean. what i mean is this *should* be common sense, but most people don't act that way. they act like it's some great enigma that dirt might be good for their kids. it *is* common sense, but most people these days don't seem to have much sense, i guess is what i mean.
