Last night was so fun and rewarding. I spent five hours working on "Eyes Wide Shut, July 1999", and 2-3 hours immediately tweaking. It was the most exciting session of editing I've ever had. I think this is because this was the first piece of work I've had under my fingers in a long time that I've actually used my creativity.

Writing poetry on DXM is so addictive.

What do you mean by tweaking and editing... Eyes wide shut? And what is DMX? Sounds interesting. :) Hope you don't mind my asking.

I was referring to revising. I used to hate revising, and now it's as interesting as any other part of the poetic process.

The best way to learn about DXM is to visit erowid, specifically their DXM vault (available off their substance list, which is located under the tab "Plants & Drugs" on the first page). Briefly, it's the active ingredient of most cough suppressants available over the counter. It's an anaesthetic dissociative, which places it in the same family of drugs as nitrous oxide, ketamine, and PCP. It's liked mainly for such effects as time dilation and closed-eye visuals. I also use DXM as a guide in meditation and poetry creation.
