Yeah, Im not entirely pleased about that law either. Im curious though why it was so important for the article to specify that it was black lawmakers? Skin color seems so important in politics, it just doesnt make sense to me that way people isolate themselves and eachother via something so insubstantial. ~Zephyr~
Well, I'm unfamiliar with the history, and I can see how people can't afford to pay $35 for an ID card. But if they make them free, and it's important enough to people to vote, is it really too much to ask to have them show an ID? As it is right now, I walk in to vote and tell them my name and then I vote. They get no ID whatsoever. So anybody who knows my name could just walk in and say they are me and then vote. Maybe next election I'll go to every polling place in the city and vote.
And while this is clearly about the principle, and not the reality; is there a chance in hell that the Democrats are going to win *anything* in Georgia?
