and conversely, the way you see other people is not the way they see themselves. I know that seems obvious, but sometimes it helps me to get over "Why is that person being such a dick/so selfish/so illogical?" if I realize they don't see themselves that way.
Well, I meant this in the literal way: You see yourself in the mirror, and the image you associate with "you" is not what other people see. Your image of yourself is not the world's image. The image your brain recognizes as yourself is flipped. Sometimes I look at pictures of me and ponder the discrepancies, what's there and what I'm expecting to see.
