My job is stressful. Sometimes it seems hard for me to remain professional. Still, if I had training and a better idea of what I was doing, I think things would be a lot easier. It's a good thing I'm good at apologizing--that's what customer service is all about.

So, I thought I'd use tonight to pick out what poems I might bring with me to the Northville Barnes & Noble gig. It's been so long since I've been in front of an audience, and never for thirty minutes. I'm going to have to time myself while reciting some of these. Whatever I pick. I still have no idea.

also, i would think you have the ability to put people at ease.
you can do this job. ask the folks who hired you for a clearer concept of the expectations they have of you and if they'll touch base periodically so you can self-regulate your learning curve.
