I think this comment:
"It's hard to convince consumers based on energy savings alone," said Nadarajah Narendran, director of lighting research at Rensselaer. "If you look at compact fluorescent lamps, they're four times as efficient as incandescent lights, and how many homes have those? It's less than 5 percent penetration."
Is overlooing an important aspect. I HATE flourescent light. I find it harsh and jarring and unnerving. If LED light can be more hom-elike in its atmosphere, I would go for it. But flourescent lighting makes me feel like I'm in a dpeartment store.

We use compact flourescents, but i don't like them everywhere. For the porch light, perfect. For lighting your face while doing makeup, or for lighting food? Not so good. My food looks greenish and unappetizing under flourescent light.
