How do I cobble these disparate ideas together?

a belief in angels [a new belief, one I am reluctantly accepting into my cosmology]
    an infinite-personal God
reincarnation [yes, somehow I wrapped my brain around and throughout the concept]
    enlightenment (or 'peak-experiences')
faith as a by-product of such (peak) experiences
    heaven--but not hell
    the possibility of bodhisattvahood

Yes, I am a wacky Christian. *sigh*

I'd say I accept most of these concepts as well, at least in a "could be" kind of way. :) I don't see any of them as necessarily contradicting one another directly, do you?

Well, yer pretty wacky in general. ;)

But how do you make them fit? You do.

Being a Christian isn't about Christian doctrine. It's about Christ.
The Way has many paths. Gnostic Christianity has always been out there, dogmatically speaking, because it gets to Christ in ways that are not traditional.

the trick is to start with infinite root-beliefs
from there you can believe in the possibilities of everything without having any contradictions.

It seems that you and [livejournal.com profile] mylastsigh got together to really pound this into my head. :)

I guess I do. It's weird, being a mystic. I don't know exactly what path is beneath my feet. I just know that it's there.

I guess not. I suppose my question behind the question is, how do I square these beliefs with the "standard" Christian beliefs that are being communicated today?

Why do you want to?

I don't know. Perhaps so that I don't sound so crazy to other Christians.

Gonna keep on trying, 'til I reach the higher ground.
