Here was the deal: I would take netmouse shoe shopping, and her husband murphyw would make us dinner. netmouse also offered to purchase walking shoes for me, as I'd been talking about getting a pair for a couple of months now. I think I actually uttered the sentence, "If I had a good pair of walking shoes, I'd walk more."

So, despite the fact that neither netmouse nor I enjoy shoe shopping very much, we went to Famous Footwear, where she got a nice pair of black sandals and a smart black boot. (Well, two boots.) And I got the walking shoes, Dr. Scholls. As every shoe was buy one, get one half off, when we got to the checkout we realized we could get one more pair at a discount, and there was this one pair that I'd tried on several times and put back reluctantly. So I grabbed those.

netmouse is very generous, as is murphyw. I thank them both.

When we got back, we had dinner and watched a couple of episodes of The Simpsons (fourth season). Then I turned into a pumpkin and went home. I had a lovely time.
