I weighed myself this morning and found that I'm down to 150.

Then I get to work and there are two cakes for someone's birthday.

I had a very small sliver of confetti cake, which I didn't finish. But I'm about to have Taco Bell for lunch. Today isn't going so well for that healthier diet I'm striving for.

A co-worker of mine is ordering from a wholesale vitamin catalog and offered to let me go in on the order with her. I'm ordering three items, one of which is called "Heavy Metal Detox". I hope she doesn't ask me about it, but if she does, I'll tell her I've been taking in too much iron.

I wouldn't worry so much about it. Better to eat poorly than to have a substance abuse relapse. Don't try to do too much at once.

Well, I figure if I'm going to improve my health, I might as well really commit myself to that.

Things have been gradual, actually. I cut out my morning cookie(s) a few months ago, which was a good thing. If I can change my coffee to tea, that'd be an improvement. And if I start bringing my lunch instead of ordering out every day, that'd be even better.

Bringing your lunch has the advantage of being cheaper, too.

That's the one thing I remind myself when I succumb to unhealthy food yet again... better to have a food addiction than a hard drug addiction. Still, I'd rather be thin and fit again.

Ms Novapsyche, I cheat all the time on my diet and still have managed to lose weight. Just do a couple minutes of extra cardio tomorrow, or eat a little bit healthier, and it'll balance itself. I realized the reason I put on so much weight was because there was no balance - I'd just continue to eat those bad things day after day after day after day. It's the repition that does it.
