Mar. 16th, 2004 10:14 pmOur choices determine what kind of universe we have. Consider:
* Free will exists.
* The Godhead exists outside of space and time.
* As the Godhead exists outside of time, all things observed by the Godhead are aggregate: there is no past, present or future.
* In the context of no past, present or future, we have already lived and died.
* Fate is a fiction.
As the Godhead is omniscient, the only way to remain omniscient with all of these factors in play is to have choice fundamentally alter the universe. This is why observation changes the observed.
Theoretically, parallel universes abound for every choice possible to every living creature. But once the creatures act, their choices and actions derived from those choices push the universe into its current iteration (current meaning "at any given time"). There is only one "real" universe, while infinite virtual realities must exist for the Godhead in order for free will to exist. (Perhaps the virtual realities operate as placeholders--zeroes, if you will. I'm actually imagining a spherical universe [infinitely expanding, of course] buffered by virtual buckyball pillows of reality.) (Perhaps I wax too poetic.)

Date: 2004-03-17 09:06 am (UTC)Basically, we're like bouncy balls stuck inside a huge circle, where we can bounce where we please; but to choose something we must bounce from the circles circular walls.
(Oh yes I'm an odd one)

Date: 2004-03-18 09:29 am (UTC)We have a freedom of choice on a limited basis, and that limited basis is our environment. We are limited to that; and the environment from day 1, of our peers, friends, lessons, is what influences our 'free will' to a more 'freedom to choose, but a very limited assorted box of yummy chocolates will"
=D
