Earlier today I said What you do with your emotions are your reactions to your emotions.

I suppose from this it's possible to say that emotions are actions. (Completely internal actions, but actions nonetheless. And, apparently, involuntary.)

So you're saying......

So are you saying your reactions to emotions are involuntary or your emotions are involuntary.Because emotions are are learned traits(some are genetically inherited)to outside stimulus. If you're in a coma you dont respond to any stimulus.

Emotions are partly based on prior experience. But we don't think about that experience when the emotion arises; the brain accesses that past imagelessly (if you'll allow me to coin a word) and without any conscious thought. The emotion occurs much too quickly for the forebrain to be involved (especially when the amygdala, the "fear center", is activated).

I'm not saying that I completely believe my initial statement to be true. I'm saying that that seems to be a tacit position on my part, because I do believe that our control of our emotions comes after the fact--they are reactions, not actions themselves.
