novapsycheThe divided conscience in cartoons is depicted with the angel on one shoulder and the devil on the other. We've all seen this, I'm sure.
This must come from some folklore. I'm curious as to which shoulder the devil is more often associated with, and alternatively the angel; I have a Jaynesian feeling that they represent the differing hemispheres of the brain.
