Excerpts of [Andre] Agassi's upcoming autobiography published Wednesday [...] contain graphic depictions of his use of crystal meth, an account of how he wriggled his way out of a suspension by lying to the ATP tour after failing a 1997 drug test, and the jarring contention that he always hated tennis "with a dark and secret passion" because of his overbearing father. -- Wow. I missed this news story earlier in the week.

IMO, if we toss out every person who used any given Category II drug on one occasion, we wouldn't have many folks left who aren't Mormons - and I wouldn't want to live there.

Frankly, given the timing outlined here (usage in July, out of competition; detection some time around the US Open), Andre should have just taken the 3-month suspension at the time; he'd have been done with it before the Australian Open (in January) and we'd have all forgotten about it by now.
