Oct. 16th, 2003 10:21 pmMy George Mason materials that I requested just two days ago arrived today. This pleases me.
George Mason is one of the few schools with a graduate program in American Studies. They seriously caught my eye two summers ago.
My GREs dry up at the end of this year.
Things are coalescing, slowly at the moment, but coalescing nonetheless. I was going to splurge and visit F in Iowa, but after looking at my budget, I realized that I could pay Grinnell and finally have transcripts sent to places.
Yes, I often back myself into a corner timewise until I have to fight in order to make the deadline. I did this just to get my degree in the first place. I know I can pull it out again; the question is, will I?

Date: 2003-10-18 09:49 pm (UTC)My GREs expire this year too... and they've majorly changed the test since I took it. Eliminated the part I got 750 on, replaced it with essay questions, which are otherwise known as "doom" to those with ADD symptoms.
If I decide to go for a PhD after this, I suspect I'll be rather unhappy.

Date: 2003-10-18 11:37 pm (UTC)Yeah. If I don't get any use out of my GREs this year, well, there are some creative writing programs that don't demand GREs. But I wouldn't be going after sociology or American Studies any time soon.
