Oct. 13th, 2003 01:52 pmI just had a serious idea for my workplace. (Yes, the place I'm temping.) Something that would be my own project that might actually make the office more efficient.
And it's such a simple idea.
Hmm.

Date: 2003-10-14 08:04 am (UTC)I work in an office where there are thousands of files. Right now, we're up to order #58150. Thankfully, most of these files are closed; we don't have to worry about them... unless we have to pull something for research.
Well, the thing is, all the files are in a back room, more or less in numerical order. But there's plenty of files that are "missing", taken by employees for whatever reason and are just not back where they're supposed to be.
So, why not have... a sign-out sheet? That's right. Such a simple idea. But to have a better clue as to where a given file might be? Priceless information.
So I'm going to volunteer myself for setting up this process and tracking all these files down. It'll show some initiative, and it'll help me in the long run. :)
Excellent idea.
