I think someone needs to explain to about 80% of those people the definition of hardship. Switching to bar soap, skipping a trip to the beach, trading in your massive SUV for something more economical -- that is "difficult to endure"? Filthy bloated greedy Americans. It's really disgusting... Although I'm sure part of it is the design of the poll, too, which is meant to produce a headliner of a result.

People like to imagine that this is a free country, run by the will of the majority. But, realize, the networks are owned. What type of people own things? Big things like networks?

And yes, average people are put into hardship by the rising gas prices, simply because most average people are already in debt up to what they can afford to pay, and now they can't afford to pay all their debts anymore. People who make 50k a year and up are, by my definition, *not* average. They're upper middle class, but they're probably in debt to the hilt also. Yeah, it's going to take a restructuring of priorities to keep their boats from sinking. Personally, I know I have to get a debt consolidation loan in order to be able to afford to drive to work 50 miles a day.
That's 200 a month or better (worse) for gas.
