A message I left for MSN

I am disappointed to see "Root: 'The Race Police'" on your front page. As an American Studies scholar, I am quite sensitized to images, references and rhetoric that harken back to our racist heritage. To see the aforementioned section/area of MSN highlighted (why not a general introduction for interested users?) coupled with the headline "Nader says Obama 'talks white'" is saddening and infuriating at the same time. The media has a great chance to broker a national discussion on race in a way to heal past damage and mistakes; your efforts today do not help in that regard.
