Jun. 28th, 2006 01:37 pmCourt nixes part of Texas political map
I think this Court is as fractious as it's been in years. Since Alito has made it onto the Court, it seems like there have been more decisions with a plurality of opinions. This one has six. So much for Roberts trying to be a unifying force.

Jun. 28th, 2006 02:20 pmSenator seeks tax on pimps, prostitutes (thanks,
simianpower)
This is so stupid on so many levels, I can't even explain in a short amount of time. I'll have to come back to this later.
Needless to say, I would so prefer a nationwide system like what they have in Nevada to what Grassley is proposing.

Jun. 28th, 2006 02:27 pm(Unfortunately, I work in Canton, so I would not be able to make it in time.)
Today's the day: Thousands of MoveOn members from Nashville, Tennessee to Phoenix, Arizona will come together at more than 300 rallies at gas stations across the country to demand an "oil-free" future.
Today's National Day of Action is really important because this weekend is the 4th of July holiday and gas prices are on everyone's minds. We need to seize this moment to make sure the media and the public know that the Republican addiction to oil money is keeping gas prices high and holding America back from the clean energy future that we need.
Can you join us at a rally near you?
National Day of Action for an "Oil-Free" Congress
Where: Arborland Marathon station
3555 Washtenaw Ave.
Ann Arbor, MI
When: Wednesday, 28 Jun 2006, 5:00 PM
Link to RSVP: http://political.moveon.org/event/oilfree/9627?id=8141-4256511-B1VE9FHmKFssg72z5NebPA&t=3
