My boss has given me permission to post a classified ad in ann_arbor_ypsi as well as any other suitable place (murphyw helpfully suggested Craigslist). So I think that's exactly what I'll do, as soon as I tidy up a job description.

(She also appreciated the gift I gave her. She kept saying I didn't have to, that these are hard times for people, but of course I'm going to get gifts for people here. We've such a small office, and most days we have a good sense of camaraderie.)

Last night, I noticed that I had a weak cable signal again, so I wasn't able to connect to the Internet. Annoying as it may be, I probably won't have service all Christmas weekend.
