Decisions! Ugh!
Dec. 29th, 2004 10:28 amSo I get a barrage of messages from my new temp agency. Apparently the company conducting the internal interviews want to interview me this week. In fact, they wanted to interview me at 10:00 a.m. this morning. I called my temp agency back and explained that I wouldn't be available today, but that I could interview tomorrow at 1:30. The company is NSF International, a nonprofit organization I knew nothing about until today (and still know little about).
About fifteen minutes after I got off the phone with the temp agency, my other temp agency called. Yes, the same agency that hasn't contacted me in three weeks. They said there's a leasing agent position available at one of my old worksites. They want to know by this afternoon if I'm interested in the position. I said I'd call them back, as I was stepping out the door.
This is annoying! What a choice. I could do data entry for a reasonable wage at a company, though the company may yet pass me up for another candidate. Or I could go back to my unreliable temp agency for a position for which I know I'm qualified and would start immediately, without the interview process. *sigh* I know I should kick my old agency to the curb. I'm very irritated with them.
I guess I'll try to squeeze a reasonable wage out of the old agency, and if they pass, then I will, too.
