Democrats are now as intensely opposed to Bush as Republicans are intensely supporting him. By a 2-1 margin, political independents were more likely to say they would definitely vote against him than definitely support him.

"I think he's run the country into the ground economically, and he comes out with these crazy ideas like going to Mars and going to the moon," said Richard Bidlack, a 78-year-old retiree from Boonton, N.J., who says he voted for Bush in 2000. "I'm so upset at Bush, I'll vote for a chimpanzee before I vote for him."

It took almost three days, but the first lawsuit has been filed in connection with Janet Jackson's breast. A Tennessee woman yesterday filed a proposed class action lawsuit "on behalf of all Americans" who watched the Super Bowl halftime show and were somehow injured by Miss Jackson's adorned nipple.

Nevertheless, defendants in the halftime show sexually explicit acts solely designed to garner publicity and, ultimately, to increase profits for themselves."

Um, I didn't see the halftime show in its entirety (in fact, all I've seen are news clips). However, I would posit that much of the halftime show used sexually implicit acts. When I hear the phrase "sexually explicit", I think hardcore pornography. Somehow, I don't think the halftime show lives up to that standard.

Rumsfeld Orders Review of Sexual Assaults

U.S. Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld has ordered a 90-day review into allegations of sexual assaults against female soldiers in the Iraqi combat field.

In a memo signed Thursday, Rumsfeld noted concerns that some female soldiers have reported sexual misconduct but have been left in their units to serve with those accused of committing assault against them.

[...] Rumsfeld's memo orders a review of how the alleged victims have been treated and whether their medical and psychological needs have been met.
