I realized something about myself today.

I opposed the death of Timothy McVeigh, on purely philosophical and ethical grounds. Yet, when reading that this man considered himself an anti-abortion martyr, and that he expected to receive a reward in heaven for murdering a doctor, my first reaction was to cheer his upcoming demise.

This is not good. But it's good to know. I've still got a lot of work to do on my inner person.

Last Saturday, I bought the new Beck CD, Sea Change. I listened to it twice the first night I got it, twice the next day, and it's been pretty constant since.

Still, I had a stronger urge to listen to Mutations today. "Dead Melodies" is worth the remainder of both albums, in my opinion.

(I still have to get the middle CD--the name of it escapes me at the moment. But the last song, "Debra", is an utter classic. I think I laughed till I cried the first dozen times I heard it.)
