Not shocked. Introducing a bunch of chemicals the body can't metabolize is bound to create problems.

Aspartame will eventually be proven to be harmful.

Well, if this was as stringent of a study as I assume, I'm sure that the saccharin rats were not allowed to eat more than the controls.
