Which of the old Dr. Who scores, the 1963, the 1980, the 1986 or the 1987? ;-)

The new one is pretty close - modernised and has sort of extra fluty instrumental bits in the background, but close enough to send a shiver up my spine when it first came on.

Years ago I heard a dance club mix of the Dr. Who theme and it sent chills down my spine. The new version of the theme has all the basic sound with just a bit of extra oomph!

I tend to like the classics, like Mission Impossible and Hawaii 5-0. Modern shows: the Massive Attack song used by House.

And the Animaniacs theme music makes me giggle every time (we're zany to the max/there's baloney in our slacks . . .)

I'm a fan of the Airwolf theme, dog help me! It may or may not be my favorite, but it was the first that came to mine.

Airwolf was one of those 80s shows I never got into. I'll have to poke around to find the song.

Of course, I can't bring it to mind at the moment, but I believe my favorite TV theme song is that of Barney Miller, because it starts out so serenely and then ramps up into funky 70s stuff.

Honorable mentions include The Greatest American Hero, Welcome Back Carter, Diff'rent Strokes, The Facts of Life, and Family Ties.

I knew someone would mention Reading Rainbow. Coincidentally, the beginning strains of it has been floating through my head for the last week now.
