Seriously, I'm sick of this, "It's all okay, he was elected, there is no conspiracy, these people are too incompetant" bullshit. The only thing we have to hold on to, and not to be worried about this, is that Bush is too dumb a puppet to prop up, too much a Maverick. Bush is not Hitler, but he thinks he is, which means he's dangerous even to the true power structure. If there is "another 9/11," it will either be after Bush is gone, or Bush himself will be the target, with a better figurehead already in place. Cheney's too old, his heart to frail, so if he suddenly resigns a year early, that's when you put your ear to the track.
I'm not worried about 50 years of Bush. He might be stupid enough to try to pull something like this, but his handlers aren't stupid enough to let it happen. My fear, and my suspicion, is that they learned from Hitler's mistakes.
