Its interesting, I found that if it made a circle going clockwise or anti-clockwise it changed the direction of the spin.

Left to right
Right to left

left and right are not the right words.

Some people see it go clockwise some people see it go counterclockwise.

Having studied the 'dancer' I noticed that the pattern although random is not an optical illusion; when turning clockwise she balances on her left leg, when turning counterclockwise it becomes the right leg which I guess means, much to my disappointment I'm pretty damned left-brain.

Some people see it going clockwise some people see it going widdershins. Now that's proper.

Clockwise / Counterclockwise looking down or looking up?

That's an interesting way of seeing.

I'm going insane trying to see it the other way. Usually I'm good at these "two ways to see it" games. Gah.

It changed direction when I looked over at the text. Out of the corner of my eye I knew it had changed so I looked back. I can't change it while it is moving! I have to blink or look away. And now it goes whatever direction I expect it to. Took me a while to figure out how to describe her motion. I ended up visualizing looking down on her head and drawing a circle and then putting clock numbers in it. Left to right, I used her front moving from my left hand to my right hand.
I seem to like it better going the opposite way I initially saw it. how the hell do I have a preference?

*deep chuckle* I put that question there mainly because when I saw it, I felt more comfortable seeing it go the opposite way than as I first saw it. It just seemed more elegant, more graceful.

I didn't know if others would have a similar reaction, but I thought I'd ask.

Okay, extra weird: my husband and I learned to see it the opposite way by changing our mindsets. I started doing math in my head. Thinking science, analysis, logic. There was this weird moment where I saw the picture FLIP to the other direction. Then I switched back to my normal right-brain and it flipped again.

by "down" do you mean "down" looking down or "down" looking up?

to answer your question, this is not an upskirt video so yes, it's clockwise looking down.

the test is backwards. clockwise is left brain.

Nor is it downblouse; it's completely horizontal.

I assumed looking down at first, but then I can't for the life of me figure out how most people seem to be seeing clockwise.

It's impossible for me to see it counterclockwise. I've tried very hard but I can't do it.

HOLD ON I DID IT.

Here's how I got it to go the other way. Stare at the picture. Then, still looking at it, begin to turn around, keep looking at it, when your back is to video screen, your head should be hanging almost upside down and back to keep looking at it.

I have a swivel chair so I just tilted my tilt button back and spun the chair while looking at the picture.

Once I got it to go counterclockwise it was stuck that way for a few minutes.

I think I like it better when she turns clockwise.

It seems like your dominant side of your brain really likes hanging on to its view of reality. You should be able to sit straight at the screen and see the image change.

Or, at least, not really move your body. Move your eyes, sure.

I prefer to think of this as the visual processors being highly accurate in terms of being able to distinguish between handedness.

In other words, the more dyslexic you are the easier it is for the image to change from counter to clockwise.

Actually, after I posted the answer, I went back, and *did* make it go around clockwise. It's sort of interesting that I need to look at it "differently" to see the two ways. I can kind of see both at once, in fact, which is really weird!
