I'm wearing a brown blouse for the first time in, well, I don't know how long.

What color(s) do you wear least of all?

I like brown and beige but feel I generally don't look good in them because it's all brown- brown hair, brown eyes, beige skin, beige shirt... If it's a nice rich chocolate-brown or reddish brown, it looks OK.

I avoid yellow and orange like the plague. There might be certain shades of these that look good on me, but I haven't found them yet.

Pink. Dark browns are also pretty low on the list, with the exception of socks. But in general, I'm pretty omnivorous wrt what colors I'll willingly wear. *shrug*

Greens actually, not a big fan of green. I also generally avoid brown but not for any strong reason.

Red- mostly because I don't look good in it. I feel.

Purple. No idea why, since I both like it and it looks nice on me. I only own two purple shirts, both of which I've bought in the past month, and only one of which has ever been worn. Once.

I've found the secret to not looking monochrome when wearing brown is to venture out of the color family. Use brown as a neutral, and add light blue or light pink or even white, and all of a sudden, the brown makes your eyes and hair sort of pop out at people.

side note: i *really* have never understood the whole brown w/ light blue/turquoise thing (i mean together in the same piece of clothing, not as a top and bottom). it never made sense to me.
is there some freaky color wheel explanation for it?

i don't wear pink, as a rule. i have a coral shirt, which is about as close as i get, and a skirt with some pink in it which is definitely not a pink skirt.

i think it's the depressive tomboy in me.

i wear a LOT of black b/c i like it.

today i am wearing a green shirt, and would love to know why Lane Bryant assumes chicks my size are short w/ short arms.

You and your questions. ;)

I don't think I own a single piece of yellow clothing. I have a couple of rose colored pieces, the closest I get to pink. And other than underwear, I don't own much teal/aqua, I tend towards rich, solid colors.

It totally depends on the shades of brown/blue which kind of depends on the quality of the dyes and fabrics. (As I was told 20 years ago, but it appears still to be true.) It's classic preppy to wear a blue oxford shirt with khaki pants. But cheap brown corduroys with a navy store-brand golf shirt can be a horrible combination.

I think dark, rich browns can look good with light blue, but not so much turquoise. Brown usually looks good with blue jeans.

I don't think I've worn brown, including tan, since elementary school. I can see myself wearing a yellow or orange tie, but probably nothing bigger than that.

Honestly, I know nothing about color wheels and other contraptions for "matching" stuff. I just wear what I think looks nice on me. Since I have similar coloring to Sarah's and had avoided brown like the plague until recently, I was trying to offer my experience. My experience was that as soon as I stopped treating brown a color and started treating it as a neutral to be paired with colors, it looks tons better. That might be the explanation for brown/blue prints - that brown is the neutral tone in the print?

yeah, i guess i could see that. it just seemed to become a trend to have, like, shirts that incorporate the two, and other tones. kinda weird.

*shrug* then again, i know jack about fashion.

I never wear pink of any kind. I stay away from yellow too.
Pink actually looks really good on me, but I'll pass, thanks.
Black looks like hell on me but I wore nothing else for many years.

Purple

I like lots of colours but for some reason not a lot of purple. I even quite like it.

I'm a bright greens, pinks, oranges greys and blacks gal. Almost never wear pants either.

Brown. I wear khaki a lot, but I don't think I really own anything brown other than a belt and sandals.
