Disturbing indeed but it also makes perfect sense, from the childs perspective. I will lay even money:
1) The missing woman was attacked by someone she knew, probably the father of the child to be or the "distraught police officer unable to do the interview." My money is on the police officer.
2) The missing woman was attacked and if the police had her mother go through the house, they will find some table, like an end table or lamp stand, has gone missing.
3) The missing woman's body was rolled up in a rug or carpet and dragged out of the house that way, to avoid spreading a blood stain. (Further evidence of someone who knows police methods was involved.)
4) The bleach was put on the floor to cover up blood stains.
Problem is, no one listens to a two year old. It is not that damn cryptic if people just think outside the box. Hell I'd be tempted to call the police and cuss them out on this one. *grumpy face*
I don't know that that is thinking outside the box. Outside the bit about it being a cop (I hadn't seen the bit about her ex being a cop when I first read it), I think that is the box. It was my first thought, anyway.
