May. 5th, 2007 01:12 amI think there's something going on with my computer.
The old Boggle site (hosted by atari.com, in Japan) is down. At least as far as I can see. I went to the beta test site and asked around about it. Someone said all they got was a blank screen, and I said I got the same thing.
After a few games, I close out of the test site because Countdown was coming on. I'd noticed, right before I left, that my computer was doing the large text thing again, so I thought I might be running low on memory.
When I came back to the computer after the show had basically ended, I noticed that when I tried to open a new window, the computer asked me if I wanted to download that file, and if I could trust it. The dialog box referred to wlive or something like that. This happened twice. I thought it was weird, but I didn't write down what I was seeing. I thought I'd just reboot and see how the machine responded.
I cntrl-alt-del, which gave me errors, which happen sometimes with this machine, so I didn't pay much attention to the actual error codes. The machine rebooted. I clicked on IE; the program took longer than usual to respond. When the home page (MSN) came up, the address was strange. It normally reads as 'www.msn.com' but it came up instead as 'www.msn.com/?wa=wsignin1.0.'
I ran my anti-spyware application, Xoftspy. It didn't come up with anything, which was odd, because normally it recognizes cookies. When I pressed finish, the application errored. I ran my backup anti-spyware app, Ad-Aware. It found the cookies and deleted them. Still, it took much longer than it normally would.
Then I thought I would make this post.
So, yeah. I'm concerned about my computer. It's never behaved like this before. Ideas?
