Or does early puberty trigger obesity? As far as I've read on the subject, the cause/effect isn't entirely clear.
I will say that in my family, women both trend toward being big (around 200 pounds with big hips) AND we all started puberty early, having our periods around age 10-11. I started getting underarm hair at age 7 and breasts at age 8.
