So, it's the last day of November. I did not make it to the goal of NaNoWriMo.
However, what the process itself did was get me to (1) think about writing in general, and (2) get into the fiction-writing mode of thinking, which is very different than that for poetry. I have a couple of ideas for stories other than the one I began for NaNo. (I just need to devote time to fleshing them out.)
I will be posting the NaNo draft, flaws and all, soon. It's unfinished, and I expect it will remain that way. But I did learn from the experience, and I suspect that is the best thing all considered.
