About the gas thing, I'd heard and even wondered that myself, honestly. But I'd also wondered how it would have been done - I'd heard nothing about renewed talks with OPEC nations, or dipping into the nation's oil reserves or whatever the administration might have done.
But I think it speaks volumes that the reaction by a large portion of the country to a major economic windfall is to be suspicious of the government.
