Went to one of the local writers' groups last night. I took a while deciding what piece to pass around, finally choosing "Wildlife at Sagebrush Ranch," which hasn't significantly changed since I wrote it nearly two years ago. I got some good feedback, though a lot of it was... I don't want to say guarded. Perhaps halting.
This was the second time in a month I've been there, and I've noticed that I really don't give much feedback on prose. Which might be part of the reason why I stopped going in the first place. But there seems to be more poets in the mix these days, so I'm thinking I'll start going again, at least for a little while, to see what I can contribute and to get that wonderful feedback.
(By the way, I've added a few more poems to my memories. I'm almost to 300.)
